When start selling our babies?
#21
Oh, you ladies are so wise! Smile

Andama, last weekend I showed Julia in the neighbourhood (in some stores), and people really thought she was real. Even a child, the daughter of a friend of mine, asked if she could touch the baby, and she was confused, because she thought she was real. That made me think I could sell her, and then I listed her on eBay. I thought it was a good sign. Smile

You need to remember that these babies are works of art and you are looking for critic's and that is how you deal with it lol Thats what I do and I will even approach people and ask the what they think of the baby.
I let them hold the bubs and of course they take photos.

If you remind people that you are an artist and the baby is one of your creations you will find people react totally different towards you.
Let us know how you go.

cheers

I will be taking new baby (that I will formally announce and post pics of today) to post office soon. That'll be an experience. But the bigger problem I have now is not my confidence: its the fact that I've fallen in love with her. She's so fun to hold. *bottom lip trembling* I kinda don't want to give her up now.

I only make for my models, the replaced one I sell on ebay real cheap.

I sold one by mistake last year. We did the show in Hasselt, Belgium and
I had one modelling a ballet outfit, a german lady was talking to me but unfortunately
I could not speak german, Gordon arrived back with our coffee and spoke to her in
french, lucky she also spoke french and said she wanted to buy the whole thing,
the basket, the outfit and the doll, I had'nt a clue what to charge, as the doll had
no hair, no eyebrows or eyelashes ( not enough time to finish before the show) she
made me an offer i could not refuse, and off she went carrying the basket, she said
what a bargain !! and I was thinking thats a lot of money for an unfinished doll, lol.

I may try and sell the one thats my signature, ( gone off her face ) she was started in October and only completed a few weeks ago. Puzzled as to how much I should charge though.

I've kept my 1st baby.
I decided to sell my 2nd baby, but not straight away.
I kept looking at others on eBay and thought, well mine is as cute as others for sale.
Then, after buying an auction template, I could not for the life of me, set it up on eBay.
Thanks to a special friend of mine, we listed 'Becky', and at what we thought was a fair price for a beginner. In the morning I couldn't find by auction listing - because Becky had sold during the night. I nearly 'fell over myself'!!! So lucky, and so DER!!!
After that I had trouble with the auction template on my own, and it took months for me to list another baby
So, 12 months later, including Becky, I've now sold three. Getting there slowly........

This is my issue!!! So far I have 5 kits in and 4 on order; 2 kits are ready to be weighted, stuffed, and rooted; and 2 kits are undergoing paint and with every single one I'm like: "Oh, this baby turned out wonderful - she's a keeper... Oh, this baby is my first one done - she's a keeper... Oh, this baby is so tiny and he's my second one done - he's a keeper... Oh, this is my first 'expensive' kit - she's a keeper... Oh, I have a Danielle Michael kit on the way and she's gonna be a keeper... Oh, but I also have a Riley Michael kit coming and she'll be a keeper... " LOLOLOL
I CANNOT KEEP THEM ALL!!!! But I really want to! They are all different sizes and all so beautiful in different ways. I think it's going to be difficult to box them up and send them away. :...(
