Counting my blessings
As a little sideline I make personalised poem cards for various occasions - new babies, Christenings, 1st Easter, 1st Xmas etc - and this year I decided to branch out and make a Christmas remembrance poem for families who have lost a baby or small child.
I had no idea how truly heart-breaking it would be reading the little messages the families sent to be added to the bottom of the card - nor just how many of them there would be.
I have had a pretty lousy year - but I have my own two little babies sleeping safely in their cots tonight, and there are no words to express how truly blessed I feel when I think of those poor families. So kiss your makers and keepers tonight, and your own little angels, and be thankful for them xxx God bless you all for 2013 xxxx

I have always found this interesting

If you lose a wife you are a widower
If you lose a husband you are widow
If you lose your parents you are an orphan
but there is no name given if you have lost a child

My mother said is was because it so painful that no none ever gave it a name

dolly hugs
how very true Andama, having lost two, one at 3 months and one at 5 months,
and then a hysterctomy, I can equate to that.
