Let me write something about me too.

I am a Brazilian who moved to Portugal in 2003. My husband and I met on the Internet, and after a long time of 'virtual friendship', we fell in love for each other. he went to visit me a couple of times, I came to visit him a couple of times, we decided to get married, and so I left everything (except my two female dogs, Sasha and Misha) and moved to Portugal. All I brought with me were two suitcases with clothes, shoes, books, a guitar and my two little ones. Nothing else.
We had a daughter in 2004, who is now almost 8yo. The most wonderful child one can have! We are a very happy family, with 6 dogs, two amazon parrots, and about 60 birds in our small aviary.
We are both full time workers. He works in a bank, and I am a Technical Writer for a German/Norwegian company.

I always loved dolls. I started to work very early, when I was just 17yo, and one of the first things I bought with my money was a baby boy doll. He is with me since then. He travelled from Brazil to Portugal some years ago, with my Mum, when she came visit us.

Last year my Mother in Law gave my daughter a big doll, beautifully dressed. I loved it, and wanted one for me. Then I started to look at dolls on the Internet. I had in mind something I had heard about dolls that looked like babies. I remembered seeing a TV piece abouth them, when I was in Brazil, many years ago. So I searched the net and found eBay and reborn babies. I adopted my first one, and did not stop until I had adopted seven of them! I couldn't stop buying clothes and stuff for them. My bank account was on a very bad situation, LOL!

Then I started looking at how they were made, and thought I could try reborn them myself. It took a while for me to decide, because I had never, ever, in my life, been a crafty person, and the money I would have to spend to get started was really a lot.
I watched videos, asked artists from whom I have bought babies, got advice, read a lot, and then decided to give it a go.
I found out this wonderful forum when I was buying my stuff to start reborning.

The first baby I created was 'born' on November 2011. And I have not stopped, since then.

Reborns are not much known in Portugal so, this is a whole market branch to be explored. As far as I know, there are only half a dozen people reborning in Portugal, me included. I have contacted them and we are now 'talking' and getting to know each other.

Well, taking this apart, I am very happy because I am getting known in Portugal, and feedback from people seeing my babies on my website have been really nice! They write me and let me know that my babies are perfect, realistic and that they simply love them, bla, bla, bla, and then they ask me to reborn babies for them. I have five custom orders right now, all from people from Portugal. Can't fit or make any babies till late September.

So, this is me. Sorry for the big testment.

The internet can be really such a great tool, not only there is this fabulous forum and people you meet on here but also great for business and relationships.. I met my hubby on the internet as well, start of 1999..2001 he moved to where I am... 2002 we were married and 2004 we had our gorgeous son he will be 8 in November.

Well, maybe it is time for me to write an update on my work as a reborn artist.

It has been one year since I started buying the materials to reborn babies. And also one year since I joined BB.

In the last past year, many things happened to me, to my family, to my animals. I lost one of my parrots. And I lost a family member, my Brother in Law, Carlos. My American Staffordshire Terrier, Fred, came to live with us again. I bought a new car and it was delivered on my Birthday.

In just one year, I made so many new friends! And although I don't know them in person, I really love them all! Many of them are here, at BB forums. Andama, Judy UK, Judy USA, Maxina, Sharla, Gabriele, Brigg, and so many more! Sorry, I cannot remember all names, hehehe! But you are all special to me.

I have learned a lot, and when I look at the pictures of my first babies and compare them to the ones I am doing now, I can see a huge difference!

Reborning has made me grow in many aspects. I have discovered gifts and abilities I did not know I had. I have been successful in this art. I have never met bad people regarding reborning, but only good and nice ones. I have bought thousands of Euros in the Internet, and never had a disappointment. All people I deal with are nice, honest and trustful. And that is amazing. In a world full of people, I have to come to meet only the nicest ones. And you, my lovely 'girlies' (as Brigg would say) are part of it.
