Family Trouble With My Reborns :(
Hi everyone,
Since i've gotten my reborns i have had some trouble with my family accepting them. My brothers make fun of me, threaten to break them, call me a loser. and thrown them on the floor sometimes. I have tried to talk to them about why i have them and they just dont seem to understand, they just say im "too old to play with dolls". I am just wondering if you guys have any advice on how to deal with this problem, thanks guys.

Everyone is different when it comes to reborns but ask any artist they will tell you these dolls are works of art and are pretty collectible.

Sometimes less is more so saying little about the dolls may help

cheers

RE: Family Trouble With My Reborns :(
It's quite normal having people who don't like or accept reborn dolls. Here in Portugal, most people don't like them. I have no support from most of my family and friends, in Portugal. What I do is just ignore that they ignore and don't support me.
Put your dolls on a safe place, if they have been mistreated, or they will be damaged. And keep a quiet attitude about them, because unfortunately many people won't like them. And don't mind about what people say. That is what I do.

RE: Family Trouble With My Reborns :(
My friends think I am nuts, I have two reborns sitting in chairs in my dining room, I have 5 of my silicone babies laying on a pouffee, soon to be 6 - I have a Peter Rabbit, Pooh Bear and a Eiore sitting on the floor in my lounge ( they are approx 18" talls ) , and have two Masterpiece dolls in my lounge standing guard over the pouffee, but I never did care what people think, my hubby is more than happy for me to have them he says this our home not a show house

I have been considered many 'lovely' things, also. But I don't care. Big Grin

I never let it bother me what people say and I agree that keeping a quite attitude about it will calm things down with those who it bothers.

That's a shame, best to have them in a safe place, and explain some men like collecting model cars, and some women like collecting dolls!
