Hair rooted or painted
I have been watching ebay and facebook and it seems that painted hair is becoming more and more the thing and rooted hair is less and less. I do have to say that some people should not root the hair as so many look awful due to such a poor job of it. I think many artists are rushing to get the hair rooted and it is ends up very sparse.

I have also seen an increase in bald babies and again have no idea why the fad has suddenly reappeared

what are your views on rooted, painted and bald

cheers

RE: Hair rooted or painted
I prefer rooted hair, I believe it is the most realistic. A bald reborn looks to me to be unfinished and occasionally I see amazing painted hair but usually it doesn't look as realistic as rooted hair.

RE: Hair rooted or painted
as a reborner I prefer painted hair... as it is longer lasting and stays neat all the time... only if the rooting is exceptional does it took better... but even then for how long... and I hate rooting hair... that said I do root hair sometimes... why I have no idea... momentary laps of reason... Glad it is becoming more popular... oh and as for bald... I too think it looks unfinished... with the VERY odd exception.

RE: Hair rooted or painted
I feel that we make these dolls to look like real babies and real babies dont have painted hair which is why I lean towards rooted hair.

I also agree that bald babies look unfinished

RE: Hair rooted or painted
I prefer rooted hair for my own dolls, but as I sell mine really cheaply I do painted hair. A lot of children now are bought reborns and painted hair if a must for them.

RE: Hair rooted or painted
I love the look of painted hair if done properly, but prefer rooted hair! Because it takes so long to root the hair, I think some artists want a quick sale so sell them bald, or poorly painted hair, that's ok for new artists, but a professional painted reborn needs either a high quality painted hair, or rooted hair to finish the baby!
