selling reborns
Hi There
I have just joined the forum and would like to say "hi" to everyone.
I was wondering if anyone could help me- I would really like to know where the best places are to sell the reborn dolls?

RE: selling reborns
Welcome to the baby banter forum Maureen,
Well in answer to your question on the best place to sell reborns, it depends.
The most popular is ebay however the best price is not always what you get. You will need to be either really good or list a lot of dolls so people get to know you.
You could always start your own website or find other sites that will sell your baby for you.
Trademe in New Zealand is very good but you need a NZ bank account to be able to sell there.
Perhaps other members will have other suggestions.
cheers

RE: selling reborns
Hi Maureen, welcome to the forum
oztion (http://www.oztion.com.au)is a good site but you need to be from australia or new zealand to sell there... and it can be a bit slow at time
Like Andama said ebay is the place if you want a fast sale but there is alot of compition however it is a good place to start getting yourself known
making your own site is a good idea as well even if you don't sell from it as people are able to contact you through it.
this is another site i keep meaning to check out but haven't gotten around to it so I am not say it is good or bad as I haven't done my research yet lol https://www.shoppesonmagnolia.com/
if i find any more i will let you know
hugs gayle

RE: selling reborns
Hi OM,
I will have a look at both of those sites as they look interesting and its always good to have options outside of ebay.
How did you find them.
cheers

RE: selling reborns
Hi Om,
I just emailed shoponmagnolia asking what you get for your $7.00 a month, what dollar it is paid in, etc etc. I see they dont take people with an ebay store which I thought was interesting and you are right you must have a website to list on their site.
We shall see what they say and I will cut and post the reply for members here. I did ask how they advertise etc as people do like to know what they get for their money.
What is fvf lol and do you sell much on oztion. You could always give us your insite on that site. The pro's and con's if any etc etc.
cheers

RE: selling reborns
hey Andama
fvf= final value fee
Oztion is a pretty good site in the fact that you can list an item as many times as you like and if it doesn't sell you don't pay anything, its a pretty friendly place
you can only sell if you live in australia or new zealand ( which can be a pro and a con)
it doesn't get the traffic that ebay does so it may take alittle longer for things to sell and you might not get as high of a price as on ebay so the trick is to list it at a start price you would be happy to recive.
I mainly list my crochet stuff there haven't sold a baby there yet
if i think of anything else will let you know

RE: selling reborns
Thanks everyone for the info.
I will now do a bit of reserch and hopefully do some selling!
I am selling on ebay at the moment but as you all say there is a lot of competition and you don't always get the price you want for all the hard work that goes into reborning.
I have tried posting some pics. on here to get some feedback but I must be doing something wrong as it just isn't working.
Any ideas?
Cheers
Maureen
