Michelle kit
Hi ladies,
I started a class back in December on a different forum specializing in ethnic babies, well I must say I am so disappointed in it. The lady who was running was putting up one lesson every Sun which covered a small amount of painting to do for that wk. Anyways, she has not posted any lessons in a month now and left a heap of us ladies hanging with hlf finished babies. The other lady who helps run the website has been appologising for her and promising the next lessons will be posted etc but nothing. Anyways I am to a point now where i want to just wing it and finish the baby on my own. I complained to the co-owner of the site two days ago and she has offered to give me a pdf of one of her classes for free (even though I already paid for the other class anyways lol) she was really nice I kinda felt bad for her. Anyways sorry, am still flustered over the whole situation lol Just wondering if you ladies who have done biracial babies can help me with what lip colour I should use for her? I still have one or two coats of her skin tone to go plus I need to do her nail beds, detailing etc. I am just kind of at a loss as to what to do, I loved how she was turning out but feel like just stripping her completely now lol Hope someone can help! Sorry for so long winded just very frustrated. Needless to say I would not recommend her classes to anyone.... Kylie xx Here she is so far. pics aren't the best cause i had to take them at night sorry. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

RE: Michelle kit
I think the colour you have done her creases under her right eye with you should also give her lips a coat with the same colour then take it from there, her lips need to be more of a deep red with a bit of blue added but still keeping your paint thin and subtle
Your doing a great job with her Kylie what Ive seen of your work your a good artist so im sure you will finish Michelle ok. Its awful when you get let down with something you put your heart and soul into I have faith in you though ![]() http://www.kissesfromheavennursery.com |

RE: Michelle kit
It's hard to tell in pics. but I agree with Judy on the lips and also I think her hand creases need a little color. At least when I do my ethnic babies I do We all have a little different taste though. What I did was I have to biracial grand babies so I took their pics and I googled biracial baby images and took it from their. My Kaleb just sold and someone is looking at my Tavian one is bi-racial and the other is AA. The color of my babies palms and soles of their feet i didn't leave plain I did 1 shade darker than you would use for a Caucasian newborn, as I thought they stood out too much plain.
Just my thoughts though and you need to do yours how you want and I think it's looking great honestly. Judymae |

RE: Michelle kit
Thanks so much for the advice ladies, as it stands I haven't done anymore on the baby than the 3 lessons that were put up to do so I am assuming the things you mentioned Judymae would be done cause I thought the same thing that the palms and soles of the feet were to light lol

RE: Michelle kit
WOW Kylie she is looking beautiful i have her on my todo list as a biracial baby lol but don't know when i will get around to it
![]() as for the lips i would try red mixed with just a touch of carbon black or burnt umber, thin washes and the palm and sole creases i usual do in a burnt umber mixed with reb or purple depending on the look i am going for. hugs gayle http://www.ordinarymiraclesrebornnursery.com |

RE: Michelle kit
Thanks Gayle. I have wanted to do her as a biracial baby for ages too so when I saw the class for her I jumped at the chance lol If I can ever get in contact with the lady again I will be asking for a refund
Anyways I did a few more coats on her today, I feel like I am going in blind on this one, started off doing her the way someone else paints and now I have to take over haha Still not even sure I am happy with her yet, part of me just wants to strip her and start over but she has taken me sooooo long to get some colour showing! lol I have done a few coats on her lips and two coats of the flesh colour on her hands and feet, do you think I should do them darker again? I have seen some biracial babies with light palms and soles and some darker lol ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

RE: Michelle kit
awww she is looking so beautiful i think she will have to come visit aunty gayle for cuddles when she is done lol
I would go one shade darker at most on the palms and soles but before you do that try doing a yellow wash on them. they do vary alot and usually the colour of the palms and soles are in relation to the skin colour eg the lighter the skin tone the lighter the palms but they usually do have a yellowish tinge to them , the darker the person the darker the palms and soles are but in the majority of the cases they are lighter than the skin very rarely would you see someone with their palms and soles the same as their skin does that make sense? i've probably confused you sorry. her lip colour is looking beautiful this bub looks to have similar colouring to yours and his soles are quite pale big_black_baby_boy_picutre.jpg (Size: 35.7 KB / Downloads: 7)
