Light bulb ornaments
Here are the light bulb ornaments I make that I mentioned in another
post. Couldn't find any of the Santa's and Mrs. Santa they sell fast. I make these out of light bulbs and felt with doll hair. I paint them also. Judymae http://s641.photobucket.com/albums/uu132...e7/crafts/ |

RE: Light bulb ornaments
No because the hats are glued on where they screw in also the paint would burn off.
I started making these one year because my daughter at the time about 11 wanted to raise money to help our church start a school and she raised $1,000. for it after costs. Sure I did most of the work making them but she did the selling. Maybe I should have my 10 year old grand-daughter sell my babies. LOL! There cuter it's harder to say no to them. :-)I wish I could find Mr and Mrs. Claus , he had a faux fur beard and mustache and she had a white bun they where cute. Judymae |

RE: Light bulb ornaments
Thank you Andama, I was very proud of her and how hard she worked. She still loves to do that type of stuff. We call it "Bless Forward". Bless someone and they bless someone and so on. She worked this summer and saved her money. a friend of hers dowen't have a lot and Megan asked me if it would be alright to take her shopping and buy her an outfit. I was very pleased and she didn't want anyone to know about it which is what truely pleased me.
As far as the crafts go I love doing them and turning something old into something new well I'm all over that. :-) I made my daughter a prom gown out of our window scarfs. We put in new windows and the old ones were huge so I had all this beatiful material 2 types so I figured I would try making a gown. I designed it and made with no pattern except the ones I made by turning her clothes inside out and tracing them. I have to post you a pic. It is much prettier than it sounds. She was the bell of the military ball We called it"Formal Camophlauge" (spelling?). Her date had to wear his uniform so she matched and everyone wamted to know where she got her dress. LOL Windo shopping :-) Judymae |

RE: Light bulb ornaments
Thank you Judy. It's a short time we are here on this earth and the older I get the faster it seems to go and I believe it's the memoties we leave that makes us worth knowing and when I;m gone I want people to fell they were glad they knew me. when I went to my Moms funeral (an everyday housewife) there were more than 259 people ther and Lord knows how many had been to visit and I knew she was right about that. It spoke well about the kind of person she was and I try to raise my kids that way. My 2 older ones with MD (muscular Dystrophy) are the light of any gathering they live to laugh and some days they laugh to live I'm sure. People are always telling me what an inspiration they are and even though they don't have much they are always the first to someones aid, so I know they have the same out look I do. But enough seriousness. God is good and He always is there at the right time.
The paint does toughen the glass and they are stronger than any glass ornament you buy. I know this with teenagers, 8 grand children and 3 cats that love them hanging on the tree. :-) The only one I have had break rolled off my kitchen iseland and onto the ceramic tile floor. But just falling off the tree (or getting knocked off) they never have. They are just fun and I have made them with hair and eyes to match my kids and put their names on them they were little and thought that was neat. They still like to put them on the tree each year. When the kids were little we would always do sugar cookies and paint them to hang on the tree and my son now 16 then about 4 would get up early and eat them. By the time CHRISTmas got here the only ones left were up to high to reach (with a chair)he didn't know we knew but we thought it cute and a fun memory. Have you ladies ever done mod podge plates. They are nice to fill with goodies and gift at CHRISTmas. Easy too. |
