Hello, I am completely new to this...

Hi, my name is Shara, and I have decided to start reborning. I have always been artistic, dabbling in sketching, painting, cross stitch, wood crafts, etc. None has held my attention very long though. Now that I have discovered this artform I am extremely excited to get started! I have always LOVED babies, and have 2 beautiful sons. Problem is - they grow! So this should combine my love of art & babies beautifully. My mother is going to do this with me, she is the more talented one, but we will work at this together! I have never joined a forum, but came across this one while researching reborns. It has a nice encouraging feel to it, thanks for listening to me ramble on, and any advice on getting started will be appreciated!

RE: Hello, I am completely new to this...

I am from Clarksburg, WV , in the US. My Mom and I live about 2 miles apart, so it will be easy for us to reborn together at each others homes. I have ordered 2 practice dolls from ebay, and am awaiting my paints & tools. Ordered them from a great site. After we do the practice dolls we have a few kits picked out. Can't wait to get started, and I am sure I will have some questions along the way! Thanks for replying!

Hi Jenn! I agree, all the kits I want are expensive. The 2 dolls I ordered from ebay were cheap, and I am hoping good for practice & mistakes! I will probably wait until after the holiday season to order a "kit". For now I will be using cheap, used dolls. The site I found to order my paint & tools is bbreborndollsupplies.com, they have kits too. Good luck, & lets keep each other posted on this venture.

Shara good to have you here I hope you and your mum are okay to get addicted to this because this art form grabs hold of you that's for sure
Smart move I bought a couple of dolls off ebay to practise on in the early stages of learning the art
One thing for sure it is just like life you NEVER stop learning
All the best

Hi Shara,

Welcome to baby banter and it is always a pleasure to have new artists on the site as we love being apart of your reborning process.
Personally I find it very exciting when a new artist arrives as it is so much fun keeping with how they grow and seeing the babies especially the first one.
The first is the best as it is the one that usually hooks us and the one from which we see what is ahead of us. There are many creative people here and all are helpful.
You and your mum enjoy your first baby and if you have any questions then ask aways as many of us drop in here a couple of times a day so questions are usually answered the same day.
Again welcome to baby banter and keep dropping in to keep us updated on your progress.

Cheers

Thanks Dianna & Andama, I am sure we will have lots of questions as we start the process. Crazy thing - we haven't even started our first dolls - and we are already addicted!
