Hello Everyone!

Hi,

I'm relatively new to the reborning world. I've barely been at it a month now. My sister and I got in to it after we saw the My Fake Baby documentary on the telly. We're both artsy, and we needed something new to occupy ourselves.

After doing my research on the craft, I was really astounded by the amount of detail and work goes in to these dolls. And they really do look like real babies. I was very impressed with everything that I saw. We've not yet tried to reborn a manufactured doll, but we've both been working on OOAK dolls. I know it's strange to start there, but I've always liked a challenge. Wink

I happened upon this site today and decided to join up. I'm pretty young (21 on Feb 9) and still attending university. I don't have much time on my hands anymore, but I work on my dolls with a lot of what free time I do have.

So, that's me, I guess.

Hi keisha,

So nice to have you here at baby banter.
It is interesting how people who dont make these dolls seem to think that they can be made with very little work lol.
You will love this art form and even though the babies do take a lot of work the end result is worth it, but its a hard hobby to stop lol.
I am looking forward to seeing your first baby.

Cheers

RE: Hello Everyone!

Thanks for the warm welcome, guys!

And OOAK is a sculpt of my own. It's an acronym for One Of A Kind. It took me forever to figure that out too. Big Grin

I've got one head finished right now. Well, I've yet to put the hair in and bake and paint it. But, it shouldn't be long before I get my first pic up for you guys!
