First attempt at Bi-racial baby
This is my first attempt at a bi-racial baby. The whole thing was a HUGE experiment. This is my paisley kit, which has already been stripped after the first disaster and I just couldn't make it a caucasian baby. I did not start out with a bi-racial kit, I think it was pink. She is slightly grey on the cheeks and forehead but I don't think this shows in the pics. She still has heaps of mistakes and is probably a little uneven. I have left her aside trying to decide whether to finish it faults and all or strip it. That being said I don't think it is too bad as long as you don't get too close lol!! I have since added eyebrows and done her lips but did not get another pic yet. What do you think??

RE: First attempt at Bi-racial baby
she is looking good nikki, don't forget biracial and aa babies com in all different shades and have alll kinds of colours mixed in their skin tones reds yellows greens etc so i wouldn't stress that her cheeks and forehead may look alittle green to you (they dont in the pic) and yes some a blotchy and mottled and some aren't this usually depends on how dark the baby is.
personally to me her head looks alittle red and I would do a brown wash with a touch of green in it but... it could be the photo as the arm in the photo looks a really lovely colour!
oh and don't forget to give the palms a wash of either yellow ochre and a brown (just a light wash)
your doing really well with her keep at it and i'm sure she will be gorgeous!

I think she looks pretty good so far. Babies skin is not perfect so I feel she/he will look okay when finished.

RE: First attempt at Bi-racial baby
I have since done the palms and soles but they may be a little too dark, I was waiting to get some more paints for the creases and nails etc and will try and finish it off. I have also done some more on the head but I think the redness was just coming out in the pics as it is otherwise pretty close to the arm you can see in the picture. Will try and get some more pics soon. She reminds me of the two little islander girls that used to live next to me in Mount Isa so I have two possible names I want to use. Just need to find the hair I want to use now.

RE: First attempt at Bi-racial baby
if you are still worried the hands are to dark you could always try a thin wash of caucasian flesh and that might help lighten it alittle...oooo what sort of hair are you going to do curly, wavy, wooly, straight? lol sorry i get excited talking hair! hehe

RE: First attempt at Bi-racial baby
I am thinking of curly hair. I got some great strawberry blonde curls from Still moments that I used on the premmies and I want to try and find some in black or dark brown. It was short staples but the curl was just lovely. She has now been put away for a while I am just not in the right frame of mind to finish her at the moment. Am working on a Coplin and just finished Sandy, had to get a new memory card so plan to take some pics asap.
