RE: Finished my first reborn and what a reaction!

You know, forums can be dangerous things. It's isn't like real life conversation where you have the advantage of facial expressions, tone of voice, body language and so on, so things people write can really easily be taken the wrong way. I've seen many a forum thread go pear shaped because of that. Sad

I think regardless of the topic however, a degree of respect and common courtesy is essential. Smile Not saying anyone here was disrespectful, just expressing some feelings about forums. Smile

Anyhooooo, back to the topic of this thread, lol, the reaction to my first doll continues to create a stir where ever we go. So my question is, has anyone here actually purchased a car restraint for their dolls for outings to avoid getting yelled at by passers by thinking a baby had been placed in a car without a restraint?! I have had several stares of horror as my daughters climb into the car holding Zoe. It must look dreadful! I hate to think that I would come across as being irresponsible! I am so safety conscious normally.

Lotus congrats on getting your first custom order that must be exciting Smile
as to wether to get a car restraint for you baby it is up to you i personally wouldn't only because if you leave it in the car people tend to think its a real baby locked in the car but if you were careful and the bub was left in the car covered i wouldn't see a problem but like i said just my opinion Smile

That's ok, I wouldn't leave a real looking bub in a car, lol! Not unless I wanted my windows smashed, lol.

RE: Finished my first reborn and what a reaction!

With these babies being made to look real, people always assume they are real children. I do know of people who have car seats etc for these babies and I know what people can be like as I was loading some into the boot of my car and an old man came running across the road and went nuts at me as he also thought they were real kids. Guess it is to be expected when we make dolls that look like the real thing as far as babies go. I do have to admit it was a hot day and about the third time also over the day that people had gone off at me about the way I was transporting kids so I was getting a little short tempered.lol My Bad

cheers
