exacto knife to seperate fingers?

I am completely in love with the most realistic looking dolls, the newborns to me are the best. My question is has anyone ever tried to use an exacto knife on a hand where the fingers are together? Just to make them appear seperate? Don't even know if it is possible, I was going to try it on a practice limb or old doll.

RE: exacto knife to seperate fingers?

Hi Shara,

You will have to let us know if the knife works as it would be interesting to see what happens. I guess if one does seperate the fingers the dolls would then have to be treated with a lot more care by the mums.
I also have never heard of the knife you are talking about and am wondering if it may also be called something else.

Cheers

Shara I must say I have not heard of any one doing that let us know when you've done it I personnally dont think I would do it.
Hey Andama I'm pretty sure the exacto knife is the craft knife over here you know the one that you use to open the hole in the neck on some of the dolls.
All the best

RE: exacto knife to seperate fingers?

I will let you know if I attempt it. The exacto knife is a brand of craft/hobby knife, I think it is actually spelled X-acto. Thanks for the replies!

RE: exacto knife to seperate fingers?

i imagine you would just be making a hole in the hand of your baby as the vynil wouldn't be sealed between each finger.. so if yolu give it a try i'm only attempt it on a play doll
good luck though
